The emerald in the middle of the Mediterranean
With its white beaches, varied landscapes and rich food culture, Sardinia welcomes you.
Sardinia is perhaps best known for its nice beaches, and here you find some of Europe’s most beautiful. The Costa Smeralda or the Emerald Coast, it is also referred to as a ten kilometer stretch of coastline up in north-east Sardinia. Here, the beaches are close to each other, with powdery white sand. You can find hidden beaches and coves where you can enjoy the Sardinian sun and take a swim in the turquoise crystal clear water. It is also along this coast that our handpicked hotels are located. From the quiet Palau in the north to the exclusive Porto Cevro and to the lively town of Olbia in the south, there are accommodations suitable for everyone.
Just like in the rest of Italy, there is really good food in Sardinia. The standard is high and there are many good restaurants along the Emerald Coast to visit, where you can enjoy the traditional Sardinian food. One tip is to head out on the countryside and visit an Agriturismo, a farm where you can enjoy self-produced dishes. Take the opportunity to taste whole grilled piglets, a dish that is something of a signature for Sardinia and very good!
To get around the island, we recommend renting a car. Then, you can explore the changing landscape, the hidden villages and the incomparable beaches on your own.
Best time: Between May and September, it is the hottest and is when most people choose to visit the island. The average temperature ranges from 22 degrees in May to 30 in August and 27 in September
It is not difficult to understand why the Italians themselves choose to vacation on this amazing island.
Benvenuto!
